Geely Sweden CEO Per Ansgar Joins Concordium Board as AI Agent Partnership Expands

Geely Sweden CEO joins Concordium Board to approach AI Agent trust

Concordium has appointed Per Ansgar, chief executive of Geely Sweden Holdings AB, to the Concordium Foundation board as the blockchain platform broadens its work with Geely from connected vehicles to verified artificial intelligence agents and autonomous payments.

Ansgar’s appointment brings more than 26 years of automotive and finance experience to Concordium’s governance. He became CEO of Geely Sweden Holdings in November 2024 after serving as the company’s chief financial officer.

From connected cars to autonomous transactions

Concordium and Geely began working together in 2021 around autonomous driving and connected-vehicle applications. The relationship was formalized in 2022 through a joint venture based in Wuxi, China.

The partnership has explored ways for vehicles to communicate directly with infrastructure and service providers, including the possibility of machine-initiated payments for charging, tolls and other services without requiring a driver to intervene.

Concordium is now applying that broader vision to software and AI agents capable of initiating transactions independently. Its infrastructure is designed to establish who owns and authorizes an agent and who is responsible for the agent’s actions.

“Vehicles and the software embedded in them are increasingly becoming parties to transactions,” Ansgar said. He added that trustworthy transactions require proof of who approved a payment and who is accountable for it.

Ansgar’s automotive and financial background

Before joining Geely Sweden Holdings, Ansgar spent 26 years at Volvo Cars, where he held senior positions including deputy CFO and CFO of Volvo Cars China. He later served as chief financial officer of Polestar.

Ansgar also holds board positions across the Geely group and serves on the nomination committee of Volvo Car AB. His appointment gives Concordium direct representation from senior Geely management as the companies develop infrastructure linking vehicles, software and AI agents to identifiable owners.

The Concordium Foundation board is chaired by founder Lars Seier Christensen. Its other members include Ueli Maurer, professor of cryptography at ETH Zurich; Swiss commercial lawyer Simone Monnerat; and digital executive Nibras Stiebar-Bang.

Concordium develops registry for AI agents

Concordium says its focus is increasingly centered on verifiable identities for AI agents that operate on behalf of people and organizations. The company says counterparties should be able to confirm that an agent was authorized by a verified human or entity.

According to Concordium, its Agent Registry went live in May 2026 and has registered more than 1,600 AI agents. Each registered agent is linked to a verified owner and receives a Verified by Concordium Badge.

The badge can be used across networks including Ethereum and Solana, allowing an AI agent to provide information about its owner without revealing the underlying corporate documents. Concordium describes the system as infrastructure for an “agentic” financial economy, with identity and trust built into its regulatory-grade blockchain.
