Pi Network’s PI token extended its short-term recovery on Wednesday, trading above $0.098 after buyers defended support near the 50-day exponential moving average at approximately $0.094.
PI has risen more than 3% since the start of the week, following a 5.2% gain over the previous seven-day period. The move has coincided with renewed efforts by the Pi Core Team to improve the network’s developer infrastructure and encourage the creation of applications and services.
Pi Core Team focuses on application development
The Pi Core Team said on X that supporting developers is essential to increasing the network’s utility at the application layer. Developers are responsible for building the products, services and digital experiences that give users practical reasons to interact with the Pi ecosystem.
The comments follow the release of new developer capabilities on September 4, along with documentation intended to provide clearer guidance for building applications within the ecosystem. The initiatives suggest that Pi is placing greater emphasis on turning its underlying technology and network resources into usable applications.
Developer tools can reduce the barriers to launching new products, although their longer-term impact will depend on whether they attract developers and lead to sustained user activity.
PI faces resistance above the current price
From a technical perspective, PI’s rebound remains in its early stages. The token is trading below the 100-day EMA near $0.106 and the 200-day EMA near $0.143. Those levels continue to act as significant barriers to a broader bullish reversal.
The Relative Strength Index is near 63, above the midpoint of 50 but below the commonly watched overbought level of 70. This indicates that buying momentum has improved without yet becoming excessively stretched. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator is also mildly positive, supporting the improvement in short-term momentum.
A sustained close above the 100-day EMA would place the horizontal resistance around $0.118 in focus. A move from approximately $0.098 to $0.106 would represent an advance of about 8%, while a rise to $0.118 would amount to roughly 20%. Clearing that resistance could open a path toward the 200-day EMA near $0.143, although stronger trading volume may be needed to support such a move.
The 50-day EMA around $0.094 remains the key near-term support level. A break below it could expose PI to the previous downtrend area near $0.086, followed by horizontal support around $0.075. For now, holding above $0.094 keeps the immediate recovery structure intact, while a move above $0.106 would strengthen the bullish case.
