MEXC reported increased trading activity across both crypto and tokenized traditional assets in August, with the number of users trading newly listed tokens rising 21% month over month and tokenized stock volume increasing 31%.
The exchange said its top-performing new token gained 14,143% during the month. Across the 10 new tokens with the highest peak returns, the average gain reached 3,358%, a 145% increase from July. Niu Lai (牛来) ranked first by peak performance.
Memecoins led new-token volume
Five of the 10 new tokens with the highest trading volume also appeared among the top performers, together representing 65% of the volume generated by the 10 leading new-token assets.
Memecoins accounted for 55% of that top-10 trading volume. Projects connected to artificial intelligence, real-world assets, decentralized finance and cross-chain infrastructure made up the remaining 45%, indicating that activity extended beyond speculative meme-token trading.
Tokenized stocks drive TradFi growth
MEXC said spot trading in its TradFi asset segment increased 13% month over month. Tokenized stocks were the main contributor, with trading volume rising 31% in August. CRCL, NBIS and SPCX were among the 10 most actively traded TradFi assets.
Gold-linked products also attracted demand. Trading volume for GOLD (PAXG) increased 43% month over month, making it the leading asset in MEXC’s TradFi spot category.
Precious-metals futures recorded an overall 32% monthly increase and remained the largest TradFi futures segment by volume. XAU volume rose 57% and SILVER increased 39%, while XAUT volume fell 10%, showing that activity was concentrated in gold and silver-related contracts.
MEXC highlights August campaigns
To support activity across the two market segments, MEXC ran three campaigns focused on TradFi, xStocks and MOVE, each offering a total prize pool of 1 million USDT. The exchange said its TradFi Million-Dollar Gala attracted more than 174,000 registrations and generated average daily trading volume of 4.2 billion USDT.
The xStocks campaign featured tokenized shares including NVDAX, CRCLX and TSLAX. MEXC CEO Vugar Usi said the platform plans to broaden access to crypto, equities and precious metals through a single account as digital and traditional markets continue to converge.
