Dogecoin is facing renewed selling pressure after falling more than 5% this week, with derivatives data pointing to increasingly cautious positioning among traders. DOGE was trading near $0.090 on Wednesday, while weakening momentum left the token vulnerable to a break below nearby support.
CoinGlass data showed Dogecoin’s long-to-short ratio at 0.85, its lowest level in more than a month. A reading below one indicates that short positions outweigh long positions across the tracked market, although the metric does not guarantee that prices will continue lower.
CryptoQuant also identified overheated conditions across Dogecoin’s spot and futures markets. Its futures data showed selling activity dominating among large orders, adding to evidence that sellers currently have the upper hand.
DOGE remains below key long-term resistance
Dogecoin has failed to reclaim its 200-day exponential moving average, located near $0.093. That level is now the first major barrier to a recovery. DOGE remains above its 50-day EMA at $0.088 and its 100-day EMA at $0.086, suggesting that some technical support is still in place despite the recent decline.
Momentum indicators have nevertheless weakened. The Relative Strength Index was near 48, slightly below its neutral midpoint of 50, while the MACD line was marginally negative. The readings indicate fading momentum without showing that DOGE has entered deeply oversold territory.
Support at $0.088 comes into focus
The immediate support zone is around $0.088, where the 50-day EMA aligns with a horizontal price level. A decisive move below that area could expose the $0.086 support at the 100-day EMA, followed by the former trendline breakout zone near $0.085.
A daily close below the $0.085 area would weaken Dogecoin’s current technical structure and shift attention toward deeper support near $0.070. On the upside, reclaiming the 200-day EMA at $0.093 could ease near-term bearish pressure and put resistance around $0.102 back in view.
For now, the combination of short-heavy positioning, dominant selling in large futures orders and subdued momentum leaves DOGE testing support rather than establishing a recovery.
