World has introduced World Money, a self-custodial financial app that combines stablecoin transfers, digital-asset trading and rewards in one platform. The rollout began Thursday across more than 150 countries, although available features vary by market.
Users can send supported digital assets and stablecoins to contacts through a World username, deposit eligible assets to earn rewards, and buy or sell digital assets through connected exchanges. The app also provides access to third-party Mini Apps, including Kalshi, Credit and Morpho.
Stripe partnership brings Apple Pay funding to US users
Through a partnership with Stripe, users in the United States can fund their World Money accounts and purchase stablecoins using Apple Pay. The company said the payment functionality will initially be limited to US customers.
World Money represents the latest expansion of the financial tools built around World’s ecosystem. World App launched in May 2023 with World ID verification, a crypto wallet, stablecoin transfers and token trading. World later introduced World App 3.0 in October 2024, adding third-party Mini Apps and a Vault feature designed to help users earn returns on eligible assets.
In November 2025, World began testing virtual bank accounts in the US. The service expanded to additional countries the following month, allowing users to receive paychecks and bank deposits that are converted into USDC.
World separates identity and financial services
With the launch of World Money, the company is dividing its identity and financial functions between two dedicated applications. The World ID App is focused on identity verification and credentials, while World Money handles wallet, payment and other financial features.
Existing World App and World ID App users can use their current accounts with World Money, according to the company. The new application is operated by Tools for Humanity, the technology company co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania that develops the World network.
