Bybit is expanding beyond crypto-native markets with a new 24/7 options trading product tied to SpaceX and Nvidia shares. The offering is designed to let users buy and sell the equity-linked derivatives at any time, including outside the operating hours of traditional stock exchanges.
The launch gives traders access to contracts connected to Nvidia, one of the most actively traded companies amid sustained interest in artificial intelligence, without requiring them to wait for Nasdaq to reopen after market-moving news. It also offers exposure to SpaceX, a privately held company whose shares are difficult to access through conventional brokerage channels.
Around-the-clock access to equity derivatives
Bybit’s model follows the continuous trading structure familiar to cryptocurrency markets, where venues operate throughout weekends and outside standard financial-market sessions. Traditional equity options markets, by contrast, are constrained by exchange hours and settlement processes.
The SpaceX-related product is particularly notable because the company does not trade on a public stock exchange. Its shares typically change hands through private secondary markets, where transparency and liquidity can be limited. A more accessible options market could affect how traders assess the value of the private aerospace company, although the structure and depth of that market will be important factors.
Crypto platforms push further into traditional assets
Bybit’s move follows broader efforts by crypto trading platforms to offer products linked to stocks and pre-IPO companies. The combination of equity exposure, derivatives and continuous availability could appeal to crypto-native users as well as stock traders seeking access outside regular market hours.
However, these products may not carry the same investor protections as instruments traded through regulated securities venues. Their regulatory treatment will depend in part on how the contracts are structured, including whether they are synthetic instruments, tokenized derivatives or another form of exposure. Bybit’s launch highlights the growing overlap between cryptocurrency platforms and traditional financial markets.
